Installation and Setup of Internet Explorer 5.0 for Windows 95/98


PART ONE-Installing Internet Explorer 5.0

Insert the West Central Net CD-ROM into the drive.
The setup program should automatically start.
 

NOTE:

If it does not start automatically click on the Start button.
Then click Run.
Type D:setup then hit [ENTER](Replace D with the drive letter of your CD-ROM).

Select I agree and click on

Click on

Wait while Explorer copies files onto your hard disk.

Click on .

PART TWO-Account Setup


Wait for your computer to restart.

Click on the link for Click here.

Click on

Double click on Internet Explorer to go online.

When the dialer comes up, enter your account name and password

Password:________________________________________
 

NOTE:

The username and password must be in all lowercase.

 

Click and let the modem dial in.

When Explorer comes up, click on Mail and Read Mail to setup your e-mail account.

A setup wizard for Mail and News should start.

NOTE:

If it does not start automatically click on Tools at the top.
Then click Accounts.
Click on the Add button and select Mail.

Enter your name as you would like it to show up on your e-mail messages. This does not have to refer to your actual name or account name.

Select I already have an e-mail account that I'd like to use, then enter your email address

NOTE:

You must enter your full email address (Example: johndoe@wcc.net).

 

Click on

Insure that the Server Type is set to POP3.
The Incoming Mail Server (POP3) is mail.wcc.net
The Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) is mail.wcc.net
Click on

Enter your Account name and Password.
