Close Notepad and answer Yes to save the changes Close the File Manager Back to the Top Netscape Navigator 3.0 and Windows 95/98Recommend caution on this process, because it requires editing the system registryClose Netscape Click on the Start button Click on Run Type in regedit and click OK Double click on the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder Double click on the Software folder Double click on the Netscape folder Double click on the Netscape Navigator folder Double click on the URL History folder On the right side, you can delete all the lines except Default NOTE: Deleting Default will corrupt Netscape and will require a software reload Close the Registry Editor Back to the Top Netscape Communicator 4.0x and Windows 3.1/95/98/NTOpen NetscapeClick on Edit Click on Preferences Click on the Clear Location Bar button Click on OK to confirm the deletion Click on OK at Preferences Check the Location bar to see if it is actually empty. The button works on about 1 in 4 computers If it doesn't, close Netscape Click on the Start button Click on Programs Click on Accessories Click on Notepad Click on File Click on Open Change the Files of Type from *.txt to All Files Starting from the C:, double click on the Program Files folder Double click on the Netscape folder Double click on the Users folder Double click on the User1 folder (or the username) Double click on the prefs file Read down until you find the lines like user_pref("browser.url_history.URL_1", "http://www.wcc.net/"); You can delete the entire line if it says url_history Close Notepad and answer Yes to save the changes Back to the Top Clearing the Browser CacheNavigator on Windows 3.1 Communicator on Windows 3.1 Navigator on Windows 95/98 Communicator on Windows 95/98 Explorer 3.0 on Windows 95/98 Explorer 4.0 on Windows 95/98Netscape Navigator 3.0 and Windows 3.1Open NetscapeClick on Options Click on Network Preferences On the Cache tab, click the button for Clear Disk Cache Click OK to confirm the clearing Click OK to exit the Preferences window -OR- Close Netscape Open the File Manager Double click on the Netscape folder Double click on the Cache folder Click on any file on the right side, one time Click on File at the top Click on Select Files Click on Select Click on Close Hold down the Control (CTRL) key and click on time on fat.db (It should be the first file listed.) That should deselect that one file. Press the Delete key on your keyboard Answer Yes to confirm the file removals.
